Meet Eric & Krista Mahan
For more than 24 years, Eric Mahan has dedicated his career to the pest control industry. A graduate with a degree in Psychology, he found his way into pest control shortly after college and quickly discovered a profession he genuinely loved. Over the years, he gained experience in every aspect of the business, from serving customers in the field to leading teams and managing operations. Those experiences gave him a unique perspective on both large national companies and locally owned businesses, along with a deep appreciation for the relationships and trust that are at the heart of great service.
Krista Mahan’s journey into pest control began when she stepped away from teaching to help build the family’s pest control business in California. For more than a decade, she managed the bookkeeping, human resources, and administrative operations that kept the company running smoothly while helping create the family-oriented culture it became known for. Today, Eric and Krista bring that same hands-on approach to Orbital Pest Control as co-owners, combining decades of industry experience with a commitment to treating every customer like a neighbor.

Meet Desi and Debbie Groover
Anyone who has lived in Polk County for any length of time has at least heard of the Groovers. Whether it’s driving by the Groover Exterminating building on Dundee Road, having them treat a home for pests or termites, or seeing them involved in local charities and community organizations, the Groover name has long stood for integrity, faith, and service to others. Through their support of organizations such as Meals on Wheels, the Boys & Girls Clubs, the American Cancer Society, the Polk Education Foundation, and the Winter Haven and Lake Wales Chambers of Commerce, Desi and Debbie have spent years giving back to the community they call home.
When an opportunity arose to sell the Dundee Road property they had owned for more than twenty years, the Groovers had some important decisions to make. While the offer created exciting possibilities for their future, it also meant deciding what would become of the pest control company they had spent years building and the customers who had trusted them along the way. After much thought and discussion, they decided it was time for a new chapter and chose Eric and Krista to carry the business forward. Today, Desi and Debbie remain actively involved with Orbital Pest Control and look forward to continuing their service to the Polk County community they love.

What brought these two families together was more than business—it was a shared set of values. In California, Eric and Krista provided free and reduced-cost services to homeless shelters, youth organizations, and groups serving adults with disabilities while supporting local charities and community initiatives. Here in Polk County, Desi and Debbie have devoted countless hours to organizations such as Meals on Wheels, women’s charities, and numerous other causes that strengthen the community they call home.
Those shared beliefs are the foundation of Orbital Pest Control. We believe that great service means more than solving pest problems. It means being accessible, giving back, honoring the trust customers place in us, and working just as hard after the sale as we do before it. Together, our families are committed to preserving the values that made Groover Exterminating special while building a future centered on modern service, community involvement, and treating every customer like our most important customer.
